THE SOLDIERS TALE

In Collaboration with LIVE Theatre and The Glasshouse

Over the last 2 weeks I’ve been running, leaping and dancing around the Royal Northern Sinfonia. My knees ache and my head hurts, but it’s been an incredible journey (mostly in circles - due to the staging)

I’m very proud of the work, so I’ve decided to share some photos from the performance and a review which I particularly liked. The last line from the Reviews Hub is golden (ha, ha)

Scott Turnbull, provided the inspired and engaging physical performance depicting chiefly the soldier, but also the devil and the soldier’s princess bride.

He did this through a form of physical theatre that incorporated both mime and dance. It would be difficult to imagine anyone bringing more flair, charisma or commitment to the task. It was not quite clear to this reviewer, however, why he chose to don a swimming cap or to smear himself with soil.

Magical. Diabolical. Devilishly Good.

an excellent physical theatre performer, energetic and dynamic, and portrays a curious mix of hardened but hopeful soldier and his increasing inability to manage events.
